We are a small family run business providing a very friendly service, and taking a hands on approach to the management of the fishery. Years of coarse fishing experience, and a love of wildlife and the countryside, have combined to shape how we approach the management of this up and coming fishing venue. Whether it is serious carp fishing you are looking for, or perhaps just a pleasant day angling for a mixed bag of fish and enjoying the local bird life, we feel that the lake will not disappoint you.

The exciting news for 2010 is our expansion into providing holiday accommodation here at Valley Farm. The first Yurt has been erected as a trial and we hope to be able to offer a Yurt Holiday Experience by Mid Summer 2010.

All Yurts will be situated in an elevated picturesque location, ideal for fishing or exploring the beautiful Suffolk countryside. More news to follow.

New for 2010 - The Yurt Holiday

There is an abundance of wildlife here at Valley Farm, and with this in mind we will be constructing a special news page for any interesting developments and reports of specimen fish caught.

Currently we are having great success with our recently erected barn owl boxes - one had a pair of jackdaws who moved in almost immediately, and the other has had visiting barn owls.

Opening Times

The lake is open Tuesday to Sunday inclusive all year round, 6.00am to 1 hour before dusk.

We are closed on Mondays to the general public but may be available for match days by prior arrangement only.

We are closed Christmas day and Boxing Day.

Valley Lake

Originally designed as a trout fishery by the previous owners in 1991, the lake of just over 2 acres was purchased by the current owners in 2007. It was changed to a coarse fishery with the introduction of Common and Mirror Carp to 20lb, along with 300 tench, 200 Crucian Carp and 200 Crucian hybrids in August of that year.

Following sightings of otters around the lake, the 2007 winter stocking schedule was postponed whilst electric fencing was erected to protect the fishery.

Now confident that sufficient security measures are in place to protect the fish, stocking the lake re commenced in September 2009 with 100 sizeable Rudd. November 2009 saw 100 additional Rudd being introduced along with approximately 60 Bream to 2lb and 200 sizeable Roach. This was followed in February 2010 with (100 of each) small Perch, Chub and Barbel.

Valley Lake is well matured, with swims packed with features, snags and holding areas. The depth of the lake varies between approximately 5 to 12 ft, with a few shallows, and holds good colour throughout the year.
